Today, MLGCA, in collaboration with DRMD, has officially launched its 2nd workshop to operationalise the National Incident Command System with the aim of Building resilient communities. The workshop is being held for 2 days. The sessions will include integration of the National platform for DRR into the functions of the Regional District teams, volunteer management, shelter establishment as per the DRM act, tsunami resilient communities through conceptualisation of evacuation and community engagement in DRR. In attendance, all DAs and MLGCA core management team, DRMD operational staff, and other supporting agencies. The workshop was officially opened by the Minister responsible for MLGCA.
