The St. Louis Hill Stabilisation Project in Seychelles has reached a significant milestone as drilling activities commence, marking a pivotal phase in the initiative aimed at mitigating landslide and rockfall risks in the area.

The project team convened at the St. Louis Community Center for their monthly progress meeting. Following the meeting, the team conducted a site visit to assess ongoing construction activities.

During the site visit, the team also witnessed drilling activities, marking a significant milestone in the project’s implementation. These activities are part of the preparatory work for slope stabilisation, following recommendations from Swiss experts. The new technique introduced has a life expectancy of over 50 years, replacing the traditional netting method that lasts less than 20 years.
