The Disaster Risk Management Division (DRMD) held a working session with Caritas Seychelles, bringing together key partners including the Seychelles Red Cross Society, the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs and the Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (CEPS).
The meeting aimed to enhance coordination between government, civil society, and humanitarian organisations such as Caritas Seychelles in strengthening disaster preparedness and response across the country. Discussions focused on improving community outreach, resource mobilisation, and volunteer engagement to ensure timely assistance to vulnerable groups during emergencies.
Participants shared updates on ongoing initiatives, identified potential areas for joint training, and further collaboration to enhance information sharing during disaster events. All parties reaffirmed their commitment to work closely in building a more resilient Seychelles, with an emphasis on community-level readiness and support.
This session marks another step towards a unified and well-coordinated disaster risk management framework.
