The Department of Risk & Disaster Management – DRDM undertook emergency mitigation works at Beoliere Road, Des Arpents, Port Glaud, following a rockfall incident on 15th September 2025. The affected area was subsequently declared a Potential Disaster Area under the Disaster Risk Management Act, 2014.
The works aimed to reduce ongoing risks to road users and nearby residents and included rock cracking of an overhanging boulder and the construction of a gabion wall. During the implementation of the project, DRDM received a Stop Notice from the Seychelles Planning Authority, and all works have since been suspended.
