Striving towards strengthening national resilience to disasters, the Disaster Risk Management Division (DRMD) and the Seychelles Planning Authority (SPA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU was signed today, Tuesday 27th May 2025, at SPA headquarters.

The MOU was signed by the Director General of DRMD, Robert Ernesta, and the Chief Executive Officer of SPA, Angela Servina, marking the beginning of a promising partnership and paving the way for future success.

While an MOU is not a legally binding document, it does serve as a statement of intent for ongoing and continuous collaboration between two organisations. Therefore, this MOU will establish a framework for collaboration in key areas of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), planning and infrastructure resilience.

This MOU marks a significant milestone towards enhancing disaster preparedness and development planning in Seychelles as it will facilitate various opportunities for interagency capacity building and training, policy guidelines development, data sharing and strategic engagement in regional and international initiatives.
